About Driving Instructor Training Courses

Thank you for enquiring about becoming a driving instructor. Being an instructor is a rewarding career both personally and financially. In which you can make a difference to people's lives, helping them to achieve their ambitions. They will always remember you; I guarantee you will never grow tired of seeing a pupil's face when they pass.

Becoming a driving instructor is a secure job for life; literally millions of people each year require driving tuition. You will meet an interesting variety of people and every day is different, no more 9 to 5 or a grumpy boss who does not appreciate your hard work. In addition, you can choose the hours you want to work. You can adjust your working hours to allow you to perhaps spend more time with your family, drop the children at school, and play golf. You may be ambitious and want to increase your earnings and set up your own school in the future.

Yes, being an instructor does have hard bits too; not every learner finds it easy. However when they pass, you will go home with the widest smile and greatest sense of achievement. Sometimes these pupils can become friends for life and recommend you to their friends.

At DITC (driving instructor training courses), we pride ourselves on our courses, which offer not only excellent value, but also premium quality tutors.

Since 1987, we have also owned a learner driving school called 'Apollo Driving Tuition'. Being markets leaders with a strong brand name and nearly fifty instructors, we frequently require additional instructors to cope with demand. Over 90% of trainees on "DITC" courses have requested jobs with 'Apollo Driving Tuition' and we have been able to offer all of them positions. Although this is an option, you are completely free to work at any school you choose.

I hope you find the details helpful, should you wish to find out further information please call and ask for "Andrew" on 0161 928 1610 or 07734 698057. We can arrange an informal meeting over a coffee, or I can answer your questions on the phone. In addition, we offer a free assessment for you to see first hand, the high standard of our trainers.

If you are interested in road safety, enjoy both driving and meeting people and like the idea of being your own boss, this will be the start of a new worthwhile career.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Driving Instructor Earnings
Most driving instructors work an average of 40 hours per week, however because the majority of driving instructors are self employed, the final decision on how many hours you work is entirely up to you. The demand for driving lessons is such that you may decide to take advantage of the demand and work lots of hours for several months; you could then reduce your workload for a while to have some free time with your family. The demand is always there and many of your pupils will be flexible, due to shift work and college timetables.

The following figures are an example of potential earnings, but are not a guarantee of what all instructors earn; each instructor will have different needs.

40 hours @ £25 =£1,000 per week
Less average expenses:
Diesel:     £55 p/w
Approx Car running cost:  £80.00 p/w
Average earnings:       £865 PER WEEK

This could be is if you supplied your own car and worked solely for yourself. We know many instructors who can achieve this. Plus they have a waiting list and can increase their profit by doing extra lessons.
